Walk Reports Database

You can use the Walks Database to search for other walks similar to that currently shown, or easier low-level walks, or more adventurous high-level Munros and Corbetts.
Use the Search option for a specific mountain or hill, or, select Munro, Corbett or Others for a full listing of all walks in that category. There are currently almost 400 walks available on the database.

Search Hints: Single searches can be accomplished by a partial name search.
e.g. Entering ime, will return Beinn Ime, and any other hills with ime in the name. Similarly, entering Sgurr will return all occurances of Sgurr in the hill name. Searches are not case sensative and will respond to a partial name, e.g phar will return Beinn Pharlagain.

Beinn Narnain(926m)

Little did I realise when I ended the previous report with the words "A mountain that demands a return, sooner rather than later." that it would be returning just so quickly; however, here we are again, 2 weeks on and another fine day on Beinn Narnain, albeit this time with two different companions, Lesley and Jimmy.

The weather this week has been quite unbelievable, clear, clear blue skies and very light winds, ideal mountain conditions, and it would seem that everyone was taking advantage of such glorious weather, even the Arrochar Mountain Rescue team who we bumped into on three separate occasions on the mountain today, and a group of Clydeside lads and lassies who kept us engaged with their chat and antics as we continiously leapfrogged each other on the way to the summit. And as for the return route, along The Cobbles track, well the two-way traffic there was just amazing, multi-naional, multi-cultured, and very multi-coloured in their interpretation of "suitable mountain clothing", or lack of it as the case may be, the bravado of which they may well regret when they feel the results of their over exposure to the sun.

As for us, well we followed the same route as 2 weeks ago, up the old hydro line, over Creag an Fhithich, and onto the 813m top of Cruach nam Miseag, with its fine views of the rocky east face of Beinn Narnain then across the bealach for the final step climb and scramble up The Spearhead and onto the summit, where we settled down for a long lazy lunch just taking in the views and enjoying the day.

Another fine day on a fine mountain with fine company.

Thanks Lesley and Jimmy, great day.
