Walk Reports Database

You can use the Walks Database to search for other walks similar to that currently shown, or easier low-level walks, or more adventurous high-level Munros and Corbetts.
Use the Search option for a specific mountain or hill, or, select Munro, Corbett or Others for a full listing of all walks in that category. There are currently almost 400 walks available on the database.

Search Hints: Single searches can be accomplished by a partial name search.
e.g. Entering ime, will return Beinn Ime, and any other hills with ime in the name. Similarly, entering Sgurr will return all occurances of Sgurr in the hill name. Searches are not case sensative and will respond to a partial name, e.g phar will return Beinn Pharlagain.

Bidean nam Bian(1150m) & Stob Coire nan Lochan(1115m)

Just 2 weeks on and here we are again, Bidean nam Bian and Stob Coire nan Lochan, and perfect weather too - Just brilliant.

With one minor exception our route was identical to our previous visit, the exception being that on our approach to the lochans on the high plateau, where this time we swung slightly more to the left of the waterfall taking a rough path as opposed to scrambling up through the rocks, and from the plateau we headed directly for the 780m bealach between Gearr Aonach and the east ridge, thereby ascending the entire ridgeline to the summit of Stob Coire nan Lochan.

I'll let the pictures tell the story and simply add that the weather was glorious. Clear blue skies, no wind and excellent visibility; dare I say it, maybe a little to hot, as we all consumed loads of water, and were grateful for the cool refreshing waters of the stream as we gained the track in Coire Gabhail.

Brilliant day, thanks Ian
