Walk Reports Database

You can use the Walks Database to search for other walks similar to that currently shown, or easier low-level walks, or more adventurous high-level Munros and Corbetts.
Use the Search option for a specific mountain or hill, or, select Munro, Corbett or Others for a full listing of all walks in that category. There are currently almost 400 walks available on the database.

Search Hints: Single searches can be accomplished by a partial name search.
e.g. Entering ime, will return Beinn Ime, and any other hills with ime in the name. Similarly, entering Sgurr will return all occurances of Sgurr in the hill name. Searches are not case sensative and will respond to a partial name, e.g phar will return Beinn Pharlagain.

The Yankee Road

Today we should have been driving down the minor road through Gleann Mor from The Rest And Be Thankful to Lochgoilhead for a walk to The Steeple and views over Loch Goil. However, the recent rains have caused major damage to the road resulting in it’s closure, with the only alternative being the very unpopular twisting, turning and limited passing places on the Hells Glen road. The road closure, coupled with quite considerable rain damage to the paths enroute to The Steeple has resulted in Mike deciding on an alternative walk for the day, a trip along The Yankee Road.

One hour later – I finished that first paragraph with the words The Yankee Road and thought, I know about that road, after all, I grew up here, I should know. However, I wanted to check a few facts and Googled it, as you do. Well, no need for me to write any more, just click the link below, I found it quite an interesting read, hope you do.

P.S - Or if you want the short version, just read the comments for the photos.

All I will say is, great alternative Mike, thanks, and thanks everyone for a brilliant day.
